Opening Times & Prices

Arboretum re-opened from Wednesday 15th July 2020

To manage the arboretum responsibly we will be limiting the number of visitors and staggering arrival times across the morning to minimise queuing on arrival.

The arboretum carpark will only be accessible to pre-booked visitors of the arboretum.


Revised opening dates and times

Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm

Your contact details will be taken at the point of booking and stored to aid with the Government’s ‘track and trace’ initiative, if this is required at any point after your visit.

Entrance costs

Adults (18 years and over): £6
Children 3-17 years: £3 including interactive trail. Quiz sheets will be given on arrival.

Under 3 years of age FREE of charge


Pre booked food is available to take away only

To pre-book an adult or children’s picnic or a cream tea for 2, simply added these to your digi-tickets shopping basket.

Your pre-booked food will be available for collection from designated points at the arboretum on the day of your visit, between  12.00-13.30pm. Signs will mark the designated collection points clearly.

Alternatively order your takeaway food at The Garden Tea Room when you arrive. Menu available at the entry kiosk.


Please note the Garden Terrace will not be open for dining at this time

Please bring your own picnic blankets and folding chairs to enjoy your takeaway food.


On arrival at the arboretum

Please make your way to the kiosk at the arboretum where we will check you against our pre-booked visitor list.

To speed this process, please have your proof of purchase ready for inspection i.e. your digi-tickets receipt.

Sanitiser will be available for you to use around the arboretum during your visit.


Hot & cold food and drinks, ice creams, crisps and chocolate bars

Takeaway hot and cold food and drinks, ice creams, crisps and chocolate bars will be available from the tea room. Counter guards will be in place to protect you and our staff whilst collecting or purchasing takeaway items.

All payments must be contactless.


Tea room counter (and kiosk on certain days/times)

Please use the designated one-way queuing systems at these facilities. We would ask when queuing, that a maximum of 2 people from any household queue at any one time.


Toilet facilities next to the Garden Terrace

The toilets will be open with a queuing system in place.  As the toilets are small, you must only enter them a household at a time.

Toilet queuing areas will be clearly marked and signs will be displayed to remind you to keep your social distance.

Please use the sanitiser as you enter the toilets and wash your hands with soap and water when you leave.


Enhanced Cleaning

All of our staff will follow enhanced cleaning routines throughout the day, ensuring all contact points are sanitised thoroughly and regularly.

We will also wash our hands properly and regularly and we will ask all our visitors to do the same.

Please be aware: We may need to close any one of our facilities at short notice to take time to clean and sanitise. We will communicate with you at the designated time, when this happens.


Children’s play area

The play area will be open with social distancing guidelines in place:

  • A maximum of 2 household groups on the equipment at any one time. This is to reduce the risk of transmission via contact areas.
  • No more than 1 parent to accompany each child on the equipment and a total maximum capacity of 12 people in the play area at any time.
  • Please be courteous to one another, wait for someone to leave the play area before you enter and be mindful of the time you are playing if you can see others waiting.
  • We will sanitise all equipment every morning but request that you and your children sanitise your hands before and after using the equipment.
  • Please ensure you have your own sanitiser/wipes to use in this area.

We remind you that children must always be supervised by you to ensure that they are also adhering to social distancing measures.

The maze will remain closed at this time.


Courtesy to other visitors

As a small number of our ancient paths are narrow, there maybe areas where you will need to give way to other people.

Please also remember to social distance and give way to one another when passing through confined areas such as the archway entrances and gateways, as well as entering and exiting the toilet.


Annual passes

All annual passes which are still valid or expired after 23 March 2020 be will be extended by 16 weeks. This is to take into account the period we were closed during Covid-19 lock down.

If you have an existing annual pass that you would now like to use to visit us, please call Helena on 01299 848255 or 01299 861368 or email helena@arleyestate.co.uk and she will process your booking manually.

As an annual pass holder, if you are booking as part of a larger group, please book and pay for the guests who do not have annual passes using digi-tickets first and then contact Helena so she can add you to the group. You will need the following to do this:

  • Your annual pass number (this can be found on the back of your card)
  • Your name, address and contact telephone number
  • Your digi-tickets booking reference number or the date and time you would like to visit.
